Why kids photography?–De ce fotograf de copii?

En: I have been asked many times why did I choose this path? -kids photography? I think the idea was born in 2004. Even though I always loved photography, never thought of it to be more than a hobby. Even though the first commercial request came in 2001 (at that time few people had digitals cameras in Romania) I refused it. I didn't want to become a professional photographer. I was just in love with photography. But in 2004, I decided to become a volunteer for World Vision, and we were supposed to be in the Hospital working with kids with very fatal diseases(leukemia, cancer, hepatitis C, etc.) ...and each one of our group had to play a role, the sole purpose was to bring a smile on those kids faces,...and this was how I observed myself that I was the one who was almost every time behind the camera, was my way of getting close to them, observe them and finding a way to make them laugh and forget at least for one second about their diseases. Even now, 8 years later, I still remember their faces, their names….. I have no idea if they are still alive, even though I hope they are, ...they were between 2 and 8 years old…... and they should have enjoyed their childhood at that age, not just their cytostatic treatment. Then, I have realized how important were those photos for their parents, the last memories, maybe, when they saw their kids smiling....was the most important project I've been part of....it was on the period when I had a lot on my life, when my life was not pink, actually was quite grey.... all I was doing was to cry every Tuesday when I was returning from the Hospital, when I was realizing that my problems weren't that big compared to their problems. I wanted to help them so much, to make them laugh, ....so that's why I wanted to continue somehow this path....with kids and photography...and one year later I bought my first semi professional camera which was supposed to get me closer to my path. In 2008, when I went to Nepal, Himalaya and when I met the same typology of kids....sick and also very very poor. My desire of bringing their message to the surface became much stronger....so when I returned I was more convinced then when I left that I was on my path....

Ro: De ce fotografie de copii? Am fost intrebata de multe ori de ce am ales aceasta cale - fotografia de copii? Cred ca ideea s-a nascut in 2004. Cu toate ca iubeam fotografia dintotdeauna, nu o privisem mai mult decat un hobby. Cu toate ca am primit prima cerere de fotografie comerciala in 2001 (la vremea respectiva putini din Romania aveau un aparat digital) am refuzat. Nu voiam sa devin fotograf profesionist. Doar iubeam arta. Dar iata ca in 2004, pasii m-au dus spre a deveni voluntar pentru World Vision, si locul de desfasurare era in cadrul spitalului de copii cu boli grave si ultra grave (leucemie, cancer, hepatita C,etc) ....si fiecare din grupul din care faceam parte avea un rol, pe care il putea juca fiecare in parte pentru a aduce un dram de bucurie in inima acelor copii si a familiilor lor.....si asa pentru multe luni mi-am petrecut fiecare zi de marti in mijlocul acelor copii, animandu-i, jucandu-ne cu ei, povestind cu ei....si asa am observat ca eu defapt imi asumam aproape 100% rolul de fotograf, era modul meu de a ma apropia de ei, de a ii putea observa, de a-i intelege, de a-i anima. Si acum, 8 ani mai tarziu imi amintesc numele lor si figurile lor, nu stiu daca se mai afla in viata, desi m-as bucura sa fie asa....aveau intre 2 si 8 ani....la varsta la care doar ar fi trebuit sa se bucure de aceasta viata, doar sa fie copii, nu doar de citostatice.... Atunci am vazut cat de importante erau acele poze, pentru parintii lor reprezenta una din ultimele amintiri pe care poate le aveau cu copii lor....a fost proiectul cel mai important din care am facut parte....era intr-o perioada cand viata mea nu era deloc roz....dar nu faceam decat sa plang in fiecare marti cand ma intorceam de la spital, cand realizam ca problemele mele nu se comparau cu ale lor, si ca doar imi plansesem de mila pana in acel moment. Voiam sa ii pot ajuta, sa le pot aduce un zambet pe buze, pentru ca ei nici nu mai stiau ce e acela un zambet....si asa s-a nascut in mine dorinta de a face in continuare aces lucru....de a fotografia copii....si un an mai tarziu am achizitionat primul aparat mai bunicel care sa ma aduca mai aproape de drumul meu. In 2008, cand viata m-a dus in Nepal,Himalaya, si am intalnit aceeasi tipologie de copii, bolnavi unii, dar mai ales extraordinari de saraci, mi s-a reaprins dorinta de a transmite mesajul lor, stiam ca el merita transmis....asa ca la intoarcere probabil stiam mai mult decat cand am plecat, ca asta e drumul meu....

Worries or no worries ?

Have you ever realized that no matter what has happened in our outside world, we have one constant : we do worry too much about everything. Either we worry that we don' t have a job, health, money, family, friends....or if we do have them, we worry that we might loose them. So again have or don't have doesn't really matter that much, if we can't escape from getting worried.

If you look back what would you change in your life? I definitely know I would like the worry part to be changed. Have you ever worried about something and that never happened? Yes, it's true maybe someday will happen....but maybe 20 years passed already and you keep worrying about the same thing...

I try to imagine how my life would have been if I never worried about a supposed future. Life is happening while we worry about it. So we'd better start living it….without the worry part We don't know what the future will be, but we can still live our present...all of us.

So Happy New Year, and hope you'll have a worriless 2012....a year that the whole world is worrying about for the last few years.

Tudor & Stefan - Waiting for Santa Claus – In asteptarea lui Mos Craciun

Ro: Craciunul, se apropie cu pasi repezi, mai sunt doar cateva zile, si cine nu i-ar place sa gaseasca sub bradul de Craciun asa un cadou de pretios precum Tudor si Stefan. Ei sunt alegerea perfecta de cadou….asa ca pe ultima suta de metri mamica lor a organizat o sedinta foto. Amandoi sunt atat de adorabili, draguti si simpatici….si ne-am simtit foarte bine jucandu-ne intr-o zi friguroasa de Decembrie…..care nici nu a fost chiar atat de friguroasa….pe cum se preconiza initial

Rules of the game

In the last article I was defining my game, and now ….. I developed some rules for my game, and since this game that I call it my life, it belongs to me as I have received it as a gift on my birthday, I can have whatever rules I want and need, and if you find them useful to you, feel free to use them in your life,but if don’t, make some that fit you better!

Define you current place and define your vision!
Make a plan and develop a strategy for your vision!
Take the risk and plunge into the unknown!
Don’t give up when walls start to appear. They are there just to be broken and left behind! You grow stronger with every broken wall.
Things are not always as they seem.Friends are not always friends and enemies are not always enemies!
Keep going in the direction of your dreams even if the place where you arrived is pretty warm, it has to be hot!
Don’t take the game too seriously, after all it’s just a game!
If you fail,get up and start all over again! Time exists only in your mind.
Don’t believe everything that you are thinking! Believe only in your vision!
Enjoy the ride and have some fun while you are playing!

So just get in the train and start your life journey, that’s why you came here on Earth – to follow your heart and your dreams!

The game of life

What is life to you? How do you envision life? What is the purpose of life?

For me, Life it's just a game and Earth is the playground. It is my vision and I’m entitled to have one as you are entitled to have yours which could be 180 degrees different than mine.There is no other reason to be here than to have fun an enjoy the game. The thing is that we forgot it and start to take it too seriously....and loose the fun of being alive. But we have chosen our game and every day is a new opportunity to play again...as long as we enjoy this game....it's our choice how are we playing and how and when are we ending. I know that some could contradict me on this and tell me that people die without them wanting to. True , very true, but that’s just because they forgotten the unwritten rules of the game.

The challenges that come along are just the condiments for feeling more alive, we love them even though we'd like them to be out of our life so much....but they are what makes the game more fun. So all we have to do is learn how to play it in a more relaxed, peaceful and fun way.No extra points are received for stress, actually I guess we loose some points.

In every period of life the game is changing, the background is changing, the surrounding is changing ...but what remains the same is the purpose of the game....joy and fun.

Every level of the game have it's good parts but also some tough parts, but in order to go to the next level you have to complete the current level.....but how do you do that in the shortest time....by accumulating love while you play it, and than you'll have more energy when you are playing the next level.So you have to love each challenge, even though sounds impossible sometimes to do that.

Ro: Si l-am cunoscut intr-un final si pe Tudor, fratiorul mai mic a lui Thea, pe ea cu siguranta v-o amintiti din postarile anterioare. Tudor e o mogaldeata tare draguta si simpatica, cu o figura deschisa si vesela. Si pentru ca am apucat sa facem inainte de a pleca la botez si o mini sedinta foto cu cei doi protagonisti, dar si cu parintii lor….si cu buni, va las in compania lor.
En: And I finally met Tudor, the little brother of Thea, which I’m sure you do remember from my old posts on the blog.He is such a cute little fellow, very open, funny and happy. And because before we went to the church for the Christening event, we had time for a mini photo-session with the 2 little ones and their parents…and grandma, I will let you in their company now.

Ro: Cu toate ca fotomodelul meu de astazi are doar doua luni si o saptamana, noi ne stim totusi de mai mult de 3 luni……..Si acum ne-am cunoscut si in mod oficial cu ocazia botezului ei….dar si pentru o mini sedinta foto….e drept noi adultii ne-am dat mai mult peste cap, ea a ales sa doarma in marea parte a timpului, dandu-ne noua planurile peste cap…..dar evident o iertam ….de data asta , ca dormea ca un ingeras.
En: Even though my model from today is only 2 months and one week old, we met 3 months ago……. And now we met more officially at her Christening Event….and also for a mini photo session….it’s true that she slept almost the whole time ….she didn’t care much about her photo session…..but of course we forgive her….this time, cause she was sleeping like a little angel.

Expectations ….. Asteptari

EN: It is said that if you want to make God laugh, just tell him your plans…….and I guess He did laugh a lot this weekend…..cause I had so many plans and expectations about how things are supposed to turned out, and was hard even for HIM to keep up with everything….But let’s start with the beginning…..

Some facts about what I am talking about…… Time: Friday to Sunday ; Place: Bucovina, International Film and Photography Festival, (Autumn in Voronet) 31st edition….maybe the last…

Expectations:

Perfect October day, awesome fall color trees, the camera perfect set, mood for sunsets hunting in Bucovina…. BUT….there is a BUT…… the bus that was supposed to go from Gura Humorului to the beautiful forest decided to go 50 minutes earlier than planned….of course because of that same perfect autumn day…….yak ….my first set of expectations…..flew right through the window …
The 4 star hotel that was supposed to be like every year….was full because another event….so at least 2 stars were lost on the way…..
Because of the same reason we lost the projection conference room, which was very cozy….and we received a polar room….which gave everybody the best mood possible….
Due to some twilight zone misunderstanding facts….the jury failed to watch my first part of the slideshow, and because of that they lost actually the story behind, not being able to get really into it….so 50% lost from the start.

What was better than expected:

I went into people photography because I like observing people…..interacting sometimes but mostly hiding behind my lens and observing their soul…..and I am doing that with or without a camera in my hands….and this is what I saw this time…..this time on writing ….not on camera, as you are used on this blog….:

I wanna start with Vera Romaniuc, the superwoman behind this festival, …. if I was in the jury I would have given that Bronze Trophy Statue to her…..cause her work was not appreciated as it should have been. Not just that she put all her time and energy into this festival, but she also put her heart there…all for us , for making us feel great, so many unsleeping nights, so much work….a woman with a golden heart….and sorry I was wrong it shouldn’t have been the Bronze Statue, should have been the Golden Statue…..

Next on my list is Natasa, my dear 84 years old friend from Brasov, the most energetic person I met …., a simple woman who has glow in her eyes and energy to climb every mountain out there….she dances every often as she can….she really gave sense to the saying: “ Life it’s not about avoiding all the storms, it about learning to dance in the rain” ….she has a teenage joy (she was telling me about her boyfriend and how they met on the dance floor 2 –3 years ago) , a child purest soul (you can see that in her eyes), true wisdom built inside of how to live a joyous life, a Mother Theresa dedication for helping the people who surround her, an independent brave person….with a elephant memory….you are lucky if you meet her, you can’t remain the same. I asked her what is the secret of her immense energy that she has at her age….and she said, and truly believed it…..”I’m eating nuts and honey everyday”….such a humble heart, she doesn’t even realize that her good and genuine simple heart is the one that gives her the real energy.

Eugen, met him also 5 years ago, like the rest of the gang….but didn’t had a chance to talk much with him…I mean really talk, until an hour before I left home, but in that hour I was able to see his real heart, … he was the one who brought at that moment some light into my darkness….and showed me a path, and I thank him for that….and like he said ….we all went there not for winning…..but for enjoying our time together.

George, Romanian high school teacher, recently film maker and photographer,…. a man with a beautiful soul who know how to support the ones that are next to him and need him….and his multiple jobs are a good platform for making it possible.

Anda & Bianca, two enthusiastic young students with whom I have spent some time chatting about dreams and hopes, illusions and disillusions, traveling into the unknown….past & future….but mostly enjoying that present moment….

Peter & Pam, an English couple, with whom I’ve met accidently, lovers of art, which was their reason for being in Romania, especially in that part of Romania, so friendly that they have invited me for a visit in England, so never know I might end up at their door….someday….

The Jury ….. YES, I am glad that I met them, partially at least,haven’t had a chance to talk to all of them. It’s not about what you do in life, it’s about who you are…..and I guess that’s why I didn’t care much about their activity, I cared more to see their soul….who they are, or who would they be if they would loose their professional identity.

Stere Gulea, film director - I heard only nice words about his art making, haven’t had a chance to talk to him, to see him as a person; Catalin Apostol, TVR producer and film director – haven’t talk to him, but seemed like a nice person, Mihai Orasanu - film producer and sound designer – him I got to talk…for a bit, I would have liked to talk more ….a man of character with a big heart….and Zamfira Nastasache – Univeristy Hyperion film assistant –we talked briefly, I wished I had met the real person, the one that was behind the professional person….I felt like she was hiding herself behind a wall that was built for protection, and so many great opportunities can be lost that are brought up by opening up to the uncertainty and unknown…so I guess I would have liked to go out for a coffee (ok, ok….I know I don’t drink coffee….still water,ok?)…to talk to her more…..in other circumstances than the ones that were supposed to be there.

So what can I say as a conclusion of this strange weekend? Things were totally different than in my mind, I haven’t receive the biggest prize, but I have received a better insight on how to live without expectation, how to live more simple and more joyous and how to savor the present moment ……. this can be more rewarding than any prize…. If things weren’t like they were I wouldn’t have had some deeper and profound talks …and even this article would have never existed….the lemons received never would have turned out into a delicious lemonade ……..so thanks God for laughing at me….and messing up with my brilliant plans….but please don’t do it again !!!!!…cause they are nice plans….good for me

I will end up this weekend journey thru life with an image, that I’ve taken in Himalya, Nepal from the slide show presentation at this festival is the best in this context.

RO: Se spune ca daca vrei sa-l faci pe Dzeu sa rada, spune-I planurile tale….si cred ca weekendul asta chiar s-a amuzat serios…..pentru ca aveam atatea planuri si asteptari de cum ar trebui sa fie lucrurile, incat si pentru El era greu sa faca fata la atatea ….Dar sa incepem cu inceputul……

Cateva date tehnice ca sa intelegeti despre ce vorbesc….de vineri pana duminica, Festivalul International de Film si Diaporama , Toamna la Voronet, editia XXXI, ….poate ultima.

Asteptari:

Era o zi perfecta de Octombrie, culori extraordinare ale toamnei, camera foto perfect pregatita de atac, stare buna de a pleca la drum la vanatoare de apusuri de soare bucovinene…DAR….exista un DAR……autobuzul care trebuia sa plece din Gura Humorului spre frumoasa padure multicolora….a decis sa plece cu 50 minute mai devreme…..auch auch auch…….primul meu set de asteptari tocmai le-am privit cum zburau pe fereastra…..
Hotelul nostru de 4 stele, cu care ne obisnuisem an de an….era plin din cauza altui eveniment,….asa ca cel putin 2 stele s-au pierdut din iluzie pe traseu….
Din acelasi motiv, am pierdut si sala de proiectie pentru filme si diaporama, care era asa de primitoare….si am primit una adusa parca din inima Siberiei…care a indus o atmosfera pur siberiana tuturor celor prezenti…..
in urma unor neintelegeri din zona crepusculara…..juriul a pierdut prima parte a slide showului meu, si din cauze asta au pierdut povestea din spate,neputand intra in starea ei…asa ca 50% s-au dus din start…..

Ce a fost peste asteptari:

Am inceput fotografia umana pentru ca imi place sa observ oamenii….sa interactionez uneori, dar de cele mai multe ori sa ma ascund in spatele lentilei si sa le observ sufletul…..si fac asta cu sau fara o camera in mana….si iata ce am vazut de aceasta data…..acum in scris , nu in imagini cum v-ati obisnuit pe acest blog…. :

Vreau sa incep cu Vera Romaniuc, superfemeia din spatele acestui festival,…..daca as fi fost in juriu, ei i-ar fi revenit marele trofeu de bronz …..pentru ca munca ei nu a fost apreciata suficient…asa cum ar fi trebuit sa fie. Nu doar ca si-a pus la dispozitie tot timpul si energia ei pentru a face sa curga apa din piatra seaca, dar si-a pus acolo si inima….atatea nopti nedormite, atata munca …..totul pentru ca noi toti sa ne simtim excelent….o femeie cu o inima de aur…..si da am gresit….…recunosc….nu trebuia sa primeasca statueta de bronz ci cea de aur…..

Urmatoarea pe lista mea este Natasa, prietena mea draga de 84 de ani din Brasov, cea mai energica persoana pe care am cunoscut-o …., o femeie simpla la care ii stralucesc ochii de cat de curati si limpezi sunt si cu o energie cat zece alpinisti la un loc, ea urcand in fiecare an de cateva ori Retezatul sau Fagarasul……danseaza oricat de des poate….ea a stiut sa dea sens expresiei: “ Viata nu inseamna sa eviti toate furtunile, ci doar sa inveti sa dansezi in ploaie”…..ea are bucuria si naturaletea unei adolescente (imi povestea de prietenul ei, de povestea lor de iubire si cum l-a cunoscut pe ringul de dans cu 2-3 ani in urma), sufletul pur al unui copil (se poate citi asta in ochii ei), intelepciunea adevarata de cum sa traiesti o viata implinita, dedicarea Lui Maica Tereza pentru a-i ajuta pe cei ce o inconjoara, o inima curajoasa si independenta …… memoria unui elefant……sunteti norocosi daca o intalniti si nu mai puteti ramane aceeasi, Am rugat-o sa-mi impartaseasca secretul tineretii ei…..si mi-a raspuns, crezand din toata inima ce spunea “Mananc nuci si miere in fiecare zi”….o asa persoana umila, nici macar nu realizeaza ca inima ei buna si naturala e cea care ii da atata energie.

Eugen, pe care l-am cunoscut tot acum 5 ani, ca pe intreaga gasca…..dar nu am avut ocazia sa povestesc foarte mult…..ma refer la a povesti cu adevarat, pana cu o ora inainte de a pleca acasa, dar a fost suficient sa-i vad sufletul…..el a fost cel care a reusit sa aduca o lumina in intunericul meu….si mi-a aratat o carare…..pentru care ii multumesc….si asa cum spunea si el……noi nu am mers acolo pentru a castiga….ci pentru a ne bucura unii de compania altora.

George, profesor de limba romana, mai recent cameraman si fotograf…..un om cu un suflet mare, care stie sa sustina si sa-i sprijine pe cei din jur la nevoie, iar multiplele lui job-uri fiind platmorma ideala pentru asta.

Anda & Bianca, doua tinere pline de energie si de elanul studentiei, cu care mi-am petrecut o buna bucata de timp povestind despre vise si sperante, iluzii si deziluzii, calatorii in necunoscut,…..trecut si viitor….dar cel mai mult bucurandu-ne de momentul prezent….degerand impreuna in Siberia

Peter & Pam, un cuplu englez, pe care i-am intalnit din intamplare, iubitori de arta, motiv pentru care se si aflau in Romania, mai ales in acea parte a Romaniei, atat de prietenosi incat m-au invitat chiar in Anglia ….asa ca nu se stie…..s-ar putea sa si ajung la usa lor intr-o buna zi….

Juriul….. DA, ma bucur ca i-am cunoscut…asa si partial macar…. In viata nu conteaza ce faci, cine esti din punct de vedere profesional, conteaza doar cine esti ca om…..asa ca de aceea nu conta pentru mine prea mult cariera lor, cine erau ei pe scara sociala ….ci sufletul lor…..cine ar fi ei daca si-ar pierde identitatea profesionala.

Stere Gulea, rezizor,filmolog –am auzit doar cuvinte frumoase despre el ca artist, dar nu am avut ocazia sa-l cunosc inca ca om ; Catalin Apostol, realizator emisiuni TVR, regizor - nu am avut ocazia sa povestesc cu el; Mihai Orasanu – producator film, inginer sunet– cu el am apucat sa schimb cateva idei, chiar mi-ar fi placut sa pot povesti mai mult……un om de caracter si cu simtul umorului si Zamfira Nastasache – asistent la Universitatea Hyperion – am vorbit destul de scurt, as fi preferat sa cunosc adevarata persoana, cea din spatele persoanei profesionale……simteam ca o parte din ea se ascundea in spatele unui zid, construit probabil pentru protectie, ….desi o multime de oportunitati sunt aduse de deschiderea inspre necunoscut si nesigur…… cred ca chiar mi-ar fi placut sa stam de vorba la o cafea (ok, ok….stiu ca nu beau cafea….apa plata, e bine?) in alte circumstante decat cele impuse de situatia concursului de acolo…..

Asa ca ce as putea spune in concluzie? Lucrurile au fost total altfel decat in mintea mea, nu am castigat premiul cel mai mare, dar am castigat mult mai mult, cum sa-ti traiesti viata fara asteptari, cum poate simplitatea sa-ti aduca cele mai frumoase trairi, cum prezentul devine achizitia cea mai importanta….si asta valoreaza mult mai mult decat orice alt premiu….Asa ca daca lucrurile nu s-ar fi desfasurat asa cum s-au desfasurat….nu ar fi existat anumite discutii mai profunde….acest articol nu ar fi existat……lamaile primite nu s-ar fi transformat niciodata in limonada…..asa ca multumesc Doamne ca ai ras de mine….si ca mi-ai dat toate planurile peste cap…..dar Te rog sa n-o mai faci!!!!!!!…..ca sunt planuri dragute……numai potrivite pentru mine

Dar pentru a incheia in context fotografic, calatoria din acest weekend prin viata, imaginea aceasta pe care am facut-o in Himalaya,Nepal din diaporama prezentata la festival, se potriveste cel mai bine in acest context.

What makes you a photographer? The fact that you own a professional camera? The fact that you enjoy taking pictures? The fact that you have studied for years photography technics? I had a chance to meet a wonderful woman in Finland …. maybe I should call her superwoman cause I really was amazed of how she was living her life. She has a beautiful home in the middle of nowhere…..45 km away from civilization living there together with her husband and her 9 kids and 9 dogs…..and above all that she has hosted over 400 people from all over the world…. I really don’t know how she is doing all that….it is a “taina” for me ….actually this is her name TAINA….which means in my language “secret”…. a well kept secret….I was fascinated of seeing her life and meeting her….I am really glad I had this chance…..thanks again Taina for everything….for all your hospitality….and see you in Romania maybe one day.

With a special dedication here are Hugo & Konsta her 5 and 7 years old sons…..with whom I fell in love….miss them already.

En.: And the big day has come!!! No emotions at all ….they were totally relaxed, haven’t seen a couple more relaxed so far. Actually they were like this with the whole planning stuff. Since they decided almost in the last moment to get married this year , they wanted a beautiful , classic, simple and natural wedding….and they totally succeeded in doing that. And more they also succeeded in transmitting me the same mood that they have, and I was able to really have fun at their wedding…..even I “stressed” them a little with the photo-session…but now after they faced this fear of being in front of the camera, they will want more photo sessions … Even though I met them just for a very short time, I liked them both,they are a very cute couple and this made my job so much easy…so thanks Alina and Cosmin for being who you are….and I wish you to be as much in love on your golden wedding ….when we’ll make another photo-shoot

Ro.: Si a sosit si marea zi!!!! Zero emotii….au fost total relaxati, nu am vazut un cuplu mai relaxat pana acum. De fapt asa au fost si pe toata perioada organizarii nuntii. Si pentru ca s-au hotarat aproape in ultimul moment sa faca nunta anul asta, si-au dorit ca ea sa fie frumoasa, clasica, simpla si naturala…si au reusit cu succes. Si mai mult au reusit sa-mi transmita starea lor de relaxare si mie, si m-am distrat si eu la nunta lor…..chiar daca i-am “stresat” cu sedinta foto…dar acum dupa ce si-au invins frica de a fi in fata camerei, sunt sigura ca-si vor mai dori sedinte foto … Si chiar daca i-am cunoscut pentru putin timp, mi-au placut mult amandoi, sunt un cuplu tare dragut…..si asta mi-a facut munca mai usoara…asa ca multumesc Alina si Cosmin pentru ca sunteti cine sunteti…si sper sa fiti si la nunta de aur asa de indragostiti ….mai facem atunci o sedinta foto

Raspunsul tau e DA? Atunci inscrie-te pana luni la ora 16.pentru a fi primul din cei 4 selectati, pentru aceasta MARTI. Sedintele foto se vor realiza doar MARŢEA intre orele 16 si 19, o data pe trimestru, fiecare fiind de cate 30 minute.

En: A little angel has born, she is only 6 days old… waited for so long by everybody (at least for the last 9 months ), and now she just have to get used of being loved and adored…tough job …… and because she started her career as a model so young, I guess she just have to deal with this star position from the beginning. …Even though we were expecting some naps during the photo-session, she wanted to stay awake as long as possible….keeping every move under control….but she allowed few minutes of “sleeping” photos. So no more talking….cause her eyes express more than my words.
Ro: Un mic ingeras s-a nascut, are doar 6 zile….atat de asteptata de toata lumea(cel putin in ultimele 9 luni ), si acum doar trebuie sa se obisnuiasca sa fie iubita si adorata…grea slujba….si pentru ca si-a inceput cariera de fotomodel asa de tanara, cred ca trebuie sa se obisnuiasca si cu pozitia de star inca de la inceput…Chiar daca noi ne asteptam si la cate un pui de somn din partea ei, in timpul sedintei foto, ea si-a dorit sa stea treaza cat mai mult posibil….tinand fiecare miscare sub control ….dar totusi ne-a permis si cateva minute de imagini “dorminde”. Asa ca gata cu vorba….pentru ca ochii ei exprima mai mult decat cuvintele mele.

En: It was very easy to photograph Alex, cause he was looking good in each photo.The only problem that I had was when I had to choose some of them for the blog and for the album…..I liked to many….but can’t complain.

Even if he is only 12, he looks like a real teenager. I just didn’t know in what category to put him, cause I had one with kids and the other category close to this was over 15 years old…..Guess soon I have to make another one.

EN: Today I have received a special and totally unexpected gift …. a precious book that was written by Jorge Nagore, a writer from Pamplona who was the friend of Inaki Ochoa de Olza, he was also part of the rescue team of Inaki.

For those of you who don’t know what I am talking about…..here is the story on a short. When I was climbing in Himalaya(2008) I met at Annapurna Base Camp (4.130 m)- 3 climbers Don Bowie(Canada), Horia Colibasanu (Romania), Inaki Ochoa (Spain). You can see the original photo taken with them HERE ; it was just before us (me and my friends)were coming down. For us was the final point of the destination, but for them was just the beginning. They were going to the top - 8.091 m….at least they thought so…..but for Inaki the climbing ended there. He died there at 7.400 m on 24.05.2008. No matter how much Horia and the rescue team tried to save him….God had other plans for Inaki. The mountains were his life and now will continue to be his eternity.

Inaki deserved a book like this , and also deserved to have friends like Jorge and Horia, and ….the list could go on….I hope you read this book and that you’ll go deeper into the story .

Jorge Nagore, is the man who wrote this book about the rescue operation that took place there….and because my photo appeared in the book, he was so kind and he send me a copy of the book. THANK YOU Jorge. Very sweet gesture…..I am looking forward of reading it.

RO: Astazi am primit un cadou special si total neasteptat…cartea lui Jorge Nagore un scriitor din Pamplona, prieten al lui Inaki Ochoa de Olza, deasemenea si membru al echipei de salvare.

Pentru cei care nu stiu despre ce vorbesc….aici povestea pe scurt. Cand am urcat in Himalaya(2008)am intalnit la Annapurna Base Camp (4.130m) 3 alpinisti Don Bowie(Canada), Horia Colibasanu (Romania), Inaki Ochoa (Spania)…puteti vedea poza facuta cu ei AICI …a fost chiar inainte ca noi (eu si prietenii mei) sa incepem coborarea. Pentru noi era punctul final al destinatiei, dar pentru ei era doar inceputul. Plecau spre varf…8.091 m-cel putin asa credeau…dar pentru Inaki urcarea s-a incheiat acolo la 7.400 m , unde a murit la 24.05.2008. Oricat de mult s-a straduit Horia si ceilalti membri ai echipei de salvare sa-l salveze….Dzeu a avut alte planuri pentru el. Muntii au fost viata lui si vor continua sa fie eternitatea lui.

Inaki merita o asemenea carte, si de asemenea a meritat sa aiba priteni ca si Horia, Jorge…..si lista ar putea continua. Sper sa cititi aceasta carte…si sa aflati intreaga poveste.

Jorge Navaro este omul care a scris cartea despre intreaga operatiune de salvare si pentru ca poza mea a aparut in cartea lui, a fost asa de dragut incat sa-mi trimita si mie un exemplar. MULTUMESC Jorge. Un gest foarte dragut. Abia astept sa citesc cartea.

Ce am scris atunci cand am aflat de moartea lui Inaki continui sa cred si acum ….

EN. Have you heard of Wayne Dyer? If you did and read his books, then I don’t have to say something else….if you haven’t read his books yet…..PLEASE DO! He will change your life, cause he changed actually his life…and throw the power of his example, you won’t remain the same….even if you want to. These cards that I made were made because of the influence that he had in my life, and I have printed them and use them anytime I need something to lift me up. I have sent Wayne also a set….and the set can also be bought printed in whatever size you may need….pocket size, postcard size or large print size. The large print size can also be bought without the text if you want it just as a painting….. So 90% of theses motivational cards have Wayne Dyer’s quotes(maybe he was quoting others sometimes) and 10% have Louise Hay’s quotes….which is also one of the very top influential people I know. She is 84 years old and she started her publishing company(HAYHOUSE) at 61…and now she is the CEO of the largest publishing company at this age. ….and not that she has this age…but the way she is living her life at this age she dances every day,she growns her own vegetable, she even made a movie in 2009. She helped thousands of people with aids….and not only aids. Also I want to recommend to you Wayne Dyer’s movie “The Shift”……will definitely help you make your own shift.

RO. Ati auzit de Wayne Dyer? Daca raspunsul vostru este “da”, atunci nu mai e nevoie sa adaug altceva….dar daca nu i-ati citit inca cartile….VA ROG S-O FACETI!. Va va schimba viata, pentru ca el si-a schimbat viata in intregime….si prin puterea exemplului, nu veti ramane la fel…..chiar daca ati dori-o. Aceste carti pe care le-am realizat au fost facute datorita influentei pe care a avut-o el in viata mea, asa ca mi le-am printat si le-am folosit de cate ori aveam sau am nevoie de o incurajare, de o ridicare de pe fundul prapastiei. I-am expediat un set si lui Wayne…..setul de carti poate fi tiparit in orice marime aveti nevoie: de buzunar, marimea tip vedere, sau de marime mare (A4/A3). Marimea mare poate de asemenea sa fie cumparata si fara text, daca o doriti doar pentru tablou. …….90% din aceste carti motivationale contin citatele lui Wayne Dyer(uneori poate ii cita si el pe altii) si 10% sunt citatele lui Louise Hay….care este de asemenea una din cele mai influente persoane pe care o cunosc. En. Today I have met a little angel, that’s what I thought when I entered in the room and he was sleeping….he was so sweet, I was just wandering if I should turn on the camera and immortalize the moment or just let him sleep….but as you can see I did turn it on,couldn’t resist. He was having a big day, his baptize so he charged first his batteries…..but before we all went to church, we made him a photo star. It was like he was born to be in front of the camera, haven’t seen so far a so willing 2 month old baby who was loving so much to be in front and accepted to stay wherever we wanted to. The only problem was that he was so sweet that I couldn’t stop making him more photos, which made the parents job so difficult….they couldn’t choose…sorry about that, but you do have a little beautiful angel there….

RO. Astazi am intalnit un mic ingeras, asta am gandit in momentul in care am intrat in camera si l-am vazut dormind….era atat de dulce, eu doar stateam si ma intrebam daca sa-mi pornesc camera sa-l imortalizez sau doar sa-l las sa doarma….dar dupa cum puteti vedea, n-am rezistat. Era o zi importanta pentru el, botezul, asa ca si-a incarcat inainte bateriile….dar inainte de a pleca cu totii la biserica, l-am transformat in vedeta. Era ca si cum s-a nascut sa fie in fata camerei, nu am vazut pana acum un bebelus de 2 luni care accepta tot ce faceam cu el. Singura problema a fost ca fiind asa de dragalas, nu ma puteam opri din a-l fotografia, ceea ce a facut pentru parinti munca asa de dificila…nu se puteau decide ce sa aleaga….imi pare rau pentru asta, dar ce sa fac daca aveti asa un ingeras acolo…..

And here we are at the Greco-Catholic Cathedral with Father Martian, which is one of the best priests I know, with such a warm heart and dedication for what he does….they made the best choice.

Si iata-ne ajunsi la Catedrala Greco-Catolica unde a celebrat Parintele Martian, unul dintre cei mai buni preoti pe care-i cunosc, cu o inima asa de calda si care pune mult suflet in slujirea sa….ei au facut alegerea cea mai buna.

And you do have to meet the beautiful God Mother….actually perfect match for that beautiful child.

Si trebuie s-o cunoasteti si pe frumoasa nasa…..defapt perechea perfecta pentru acest copilas asa de frumos.

Freezing ....winter photo session

EN. It was -8 Celsius degrees outside and she was the perfect model for this weather.....I don't know how she was able to be so joyful and relaxed in that weather. My fingers were freezing on the buttons and she was able to laugh and move so naturally ...like a real super model. She said that the reason might be her last 18 years lived in the north of Germany.....might be, but no matter what the reason was, thanks Cris for being such a joyful model even in those circumstances, was nice to meet you and have freezing fun! :)

RO. Erau -8 grade Celsius afara si ea era modelul perfect pentru o asemenea temperatura....Nu stiu cum reusea sa fie asa vesela si relaxata pe asa o vreme. Degetele mele erau degerate pe butoane...iar ea putea sa rada si sa se miste intr-un mod asa de natural.....ca un adevarat super model. Poate motivul e ca a trait ultimii 18 ani in nordul Germaniei.....dar oricare ar fi adevaratul motiv, iti multumesc Cris ca ai fost un model de bucurie si in asemenea circumstante vitrege, ma bucur ca te-am cunoscut si multumesc de distractia "inghetata".

If it's the end of the year and also if it's the moment of looking back of what happened in 2010 and think and dream of what 2011 will bring us, I've decided to make a short list with my favorites photos from the photo sessions of this year....the events are not included here....and please know that these are my favorites not necessarily yours, as I realized so far.They will appear in the order that were photographed.They are decorated with stars because it is the moment of the year when stars are part of the show :) You can use them as o postcard.

Daca tot se incheie anul 2010 si dac tot e momentul unei retrospective a ceea ce s-a intamplat in acest an si a visa la ce ne aduce 2011, am decis sa fac o scurta lista cu pozele mele favorite din acest an de la sedintele foto....evenimentele nu sunt incluse aici.....acestea sunt favoritele mele, din ce am observat pana acum nu coincid intotdeauna cu preferintele voastre.Vor aparea in ordinea in care au fost fotografiate.Si pentru ca tot e sarbatoare....le-am decorat cu stelute, pentru a le da si lor un aer de sarbatoare. EN. 6 weeks of her life just flew away so quickly, and it came the moment for Daria Miruna to enter in the church for the first time.The Orthodox priest from this church respected all the religious traditions and it was a beautiful ceremony...about 70 minutes. I always wonder what is in the child's mind and heart in these moments....

RO. 6 saptamani de viata au zburat asa rapid si a sosit momentul pentru Daria Miruna sa intre in biserica pentru prima data. Preotul Ortodox care a celebrat botezul, a tinut sa respecte fiecare traditie si intr-adevar a fost o ceremonie foarte frumoasa care a durat aproximativ 70 de minute. Intotdeauna ma intreb ce este oare in mintea copilasilor in aceste momente.....

EN. It's the second day of Christmas and it is the time for Ranya Maia to meet God, she is 3 months and 3 days old, and 33 is a special number for Jesus....so perfect timing. Before the baptize I took some photos of her in her own environment....where she was surrounded only by love.... meaning parents, 4 grandparents, 2 godfathers and 2 godmothers. RO. Este a doua zi de Craciun si e timpul pt ca Ranya Maia sa-l intalneasca pe Dumnezeu, ea are 3 luni si 3 zile si cum 33 este un numar special pentru Isus....sincronizare perfecta. Inainte de botez am reusit sa fac cateva poze cu eroina noastra in mediul ei natural....unde era inconjurata doar de iubire....adica parinti, 4 bunici, si 2 perechi de nasi. After some years of being in love, they decided to say "YES" on Christmas Eve....what a beautiful moment to get married...but this is just the first episode ....the next one will be almost a year from now. Because it was Christmas day we had about 3 minutes really for the photo-shoot, they were in such a hurry, such a pity cause they look so nice together .....The beautiful flower bouquet was made by Magnolia

Pentu ca deja povestea lor de iubire dureaza de cativa ani, au decis sa spuna "DA" in Ajunul Craciunului, ...ce cadou mai frumos puteau sa-si faca....dar acesta este doar primul episod al nuntii lor....continuarea va fi peste aproape un an. Pentru ca totusi era Ajunul Craciunului am avut efectiv doar 3 minute pentru sedinta foto, se grabeau asa de tare, si ce pacat ca le statea asa de bine in fata camerei impreuna....Frumosul buchet al miresei a fost realizat de Magnolia.

Ro: Radio Cluj a organizat in acest an cu ocazia Craciunului a 4-a editie a campaniei Inimi pentru Inimi. Acolo traiesc 10 familii care nu au alt venit decat ajutorul social de la stat, in valoare de 125 de lei. Lor dorim sa le oferim masa de Craciun. Si aceasta este posibil datorita voua celor care ati participat la concertele de caritate organizate la Casa radio. Ne-au cantat si incantat: Ami & Crista, Trupa Vertical, Chris, un grup de tineri si evident redactorii de la Radio Cluj "dirijati" de Rada

I told her while I was photographing her that this name came into my mind at one point and that I will use it as a title....she laughed...but I was serious...

Who thought that we will be able to shoot for almost 3 hours outside .....in the middle of November and that it can be that warm...after her outfit you would have never guessed that it's November...maybe in December we'll shoot in bath suit :) and in August next year in the Ski outfit :)

But let's stop talking and enjoy our walk in the forest....you can join whenever you'd like to.
